All Things Victorian - 002 - Victorian Fashions

All Things Victorian Update
It was a productive day in the studios of Cape Ann TV today. I completed the rebuilding of Show #1 - Victorian Overview.
I reviewed Show #2 - Victorian Fashions. This one should be done.
I then worked on Show #10 - Victorian Baking - and I suspect it will be a better program. I'll review it tomorrow just to make sure.
The whole point of this is that I'm preparing them for upload to MassAccess. At MassAccess, stations from around the Commonwealth will be able to upload All Things Victorian into their system for airing. We think that considering our First Place Award, stations will be more than happy to add ATV to their respective schedules. I'll spend a fair part of the coming year making sure that this happens.
Then we'll go National!

Things to Do Tomorrow
I have more editing on All Things Victorian. I actually have to upload to Final Cut the recent Treasures show recorded this past week. I also have to complete the repair work on the 1st show from All Things Victorian. Lisa and I have some Nut/Fudge deliveries to make. And, of course, there are the orders that have to be mailed out.
Today, we picked up another fabulous donation. I'm thinking that there's another show in this collection.
Recently I was contacted by my publisher regarding a Civil War letters book that I had created. I must finish it.

Treasures Pt. 1
Lisa and I had a great time yesterday filming the first, of what we hope to be many, TREASURES programs for All Things Victorian. And it goes something like this...
Lisa received an email from a good friend and fan, Kim Sliney, alerting Lisa that she (Kim) had a stack of Victorian & Edwardian clothing that she would like to give Lisa. Finally, last Sunday a hole appeared in our schedule, and we thought that it might be just the time for a short ride to Belmont to meet with Kim, and to pick up the precious goods. We were not disappointed. We were so pleased that we thought it might make for a very interesting program, or two, if we were to open the boxes for the viewers, then permitting Lisa to do what she does best, describe each article as it appeared.
It was a smashing success, we thought. I set a high back chair by the fireplace and threw a log on. Lisa brought in a cup of tea, and I let the cameras roll.
I'll work on the two shows this week, so I do hope to have them on air shortly. You won't be disappointed.
P.S. We just received a call from another Lady that wants to donate her family collection to Lisa. We're going over to take a gander this Sunday.

Just another Sunday
The day started out simple enough. A lazy day in the midst of life's maelstrom called Sunday. Well, not totally lazy. Lisa had a demo at a local merchant in Gloucester from 11-1. Other than that, there wasn't much going to happen. And that was fine with me as it was cold and blustery here in middle earth.
When Lisa left for her demo, I started thumbing through my emails dating back a week, and I came across one that peaked my interest. Photographer, Karin Rosenthal, was having an open house. Hmmmm... Karin awarded one of my pieces in a show at the South Shore Art Association last year. The least I can do is attend her open house, check out her fine work, and eat her out of house and home. I did all three in true professional fashion. I do like her work, though, so it was a treat to roam about the house contemplating a true artist. I also had the opportunity to speak with her about appearing on LensArt: the Fine Art of Photography; more about that in a future post.
Before Karin's, we stopped at a home in Belmont to pick up a generous Victorian donation given us by a friend and an admirer. When I say generous, I mean generous. Two large boxes full of select victorian finery, and a smaller box containing a really old ladies hat. Lisa and I are planning on opening the boxes on an episode of All Things Victorian that I hope to film this coming weekend. We'll all be surprised at the same time.
When we finally got home a little after 4pm, we noticed that our neighbor - Sandy Bay Historical Society - was having a little party. Yeeeeeaaaaaah.... another open house!!! As I always save a little extra room for just such a surprise occasion like this, we decided to pop in. Just being neighborly, after all. Anyway, it, too, was a treat. The history of Sandy Bay before my eyes, not to mention another table full of treats. We got there a little late, but still had enough time to time travel a bit. I'll not be so sluggish in my return.
All in all it was a pretty good day. Good night all.
